ERASMUS+ - "A UNIQUE CHANCE TO EXPLORE THE WORLD"

We are inspired by the stories of students who choose to step out of their comfort zone and participate in learning mobility and/or traineeship activities in EU countries, both during and after successful graduation.

This is also the case of Georgiana Neculcea, a recent graduate of the International Relations and European Studies undergraduate program at the Faculty of Communication and International Relations. She applied, was selected and is today the beneficiary of an Erasmus+ Student Mobility grant for a 12-month Internship - starting August 2023 until the end of July 2024, in Germany, at MCS Trucking GmbH Company, in the Export-Import Management Department, according to the Erasmus+ guidelines.

Georgiana gave us her perspective on how she perceives this experience - "For me, the Erasmus grant is an opportunity to experience a new culture, to work in a different social and cultural environment, to develop communication skills and new skills. It is an experience that will definitely open my horizons and help me grow both personally and professionally.

The Erasmus+ experience will open the way to new professional opportunities, new friendships and connections at European and international level, which will remain present in my life after the end of the mobility activity. For a start, I see the chance to learn new operating systems and improve my language skills.

This experience will also help me to develop personally, to go beyond my limits and to adapt to new and challenging situations. I will learn to manage resources wisely and to cope with cultural diversity, thus enriching my perspective on the world. The Erasmus+ programme is more than an academic opportunity. It is a unique chance to explore and I am fully grateful to Danubius University for it!"

The remarkable experiences of studying remain engraved in our souls forever, and among them the study and training experiences generated by the Erasmus+ Programme play a major role.

Students who undertake such mobility in universities in the European Union and beyond get to know each other better, learn new things both about others and about themselves, develop new skills, make lifelong friendships, in other words, live unparalleled experiences.

Good luck, Georgiana!

We wish you a dream experience, we are proud of you and we can't wait to hear how your Erasmus+ training experience is going!

Danubius University's Centre for Continuing Education and Technological Information organized Romanian and English courses for citizens of Pakistan

Following the partnership agreement concluded by the Rector and CEO of Danubius University, Dr. Steve O. Michael, with educational representatives from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the first Romanian language course was organized, specially designed for Pakistani citizens who wish to come to Romania for work or study purposes.

From 15 to 28 June, the participants attended this course, which focused on Romanian culture and civilization so that their integration in Romania would be easy.

The course was held by Dr. Alina Beatrice Cheșcă, a teacher at Danubius University, who enthusiastically told us some impressions about this teaching experience:

„The purpose of these courses was to help the students from Pakistan improve certain English language skills, especially their conversational level, as well as learning some basic conversational words and patterns in Romanian.

The courses were based on a permanent dialogue in English, designing simulations of the interview that the citizens from Pakistan will have at the Romanian Embassy. We focused on the possible questions and answers, choosing together the most correct and appropriate formulas in the English vocabulary and grammar.

In the latter part of the course, the participants became familiar with the most important aspects of Romanian culture, taking a short journey through history, geography, literature, music, traditions and customs, religion, culinary art and the present society. Besides, the students from Pakistan learned some basic Romanian words and phrases that they will be able to use in their daily interactions in our country.

In the more than 3 hours that we spent together apart from the official number of course hours, we discussed aspects related to interculturality and multiculturalism, knowledge, common values, humanity and other universal human topics.

These courses were a very special experience, representing, above all, a genuine intercultural dialogue, a warm closeness between two cultures that are so different and yet united by common human values.”

Following participation, the trainees received a certificate of participation issued by Danubius University.

The new programme developed by Danubius University for the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been so successful that the Centre for Continuing Education and Technological Information aims to extend the programme to other regions in Asia and beyond.

CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS 2023!

All four schools of Danubius University - the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Business Administration, the Faculty of Communication and International Relations and the Faculty of Behavioral and Applied Sciences, together with the President of the Board of Administration, the Rector, the Senate President, the Vice-Rector for the Teaching Activity, the special guest of DANUBIUS ALUMNI, the deans, professors, graduates and their families and friends, celebrated the graduation of the Bachelor programmes for CLASS 2023, in a generous ceremony, on the first Saturday of July, right in the amphitheater where the founder of Danubius University of Galati, Professor Benone Pușca, organized the first commencement of the first class of Danubius University!

The moments full of emotion, joy and gratitude made this graduation ceremony a memorable event for Danubius graduates!

The programme started with the singing of the Romanian anthem, then the entire audience received a blessing from the parish priest Catalin Buia, who told the graduates how important it is to believe in themselves and in their future.

The rector of DU, Dr. Steve O. Michael, was the host of this ceremony and, in the speech given at the beginning of the event, he said that: "The past does not matter, as we cannot have control over it. What matters is the future, and what we do today prepares us for the future we imagine. I invite you to join me in seeing what is possible.

I invite you to see a bigger and flourishing Danubius University. Don't look at what is today, but look at what Danubius University will be tomorrow.,,.” (We invite you to read the entire Rector's speech by accessing this link - https://www.univ-danubius.ro/en/news/rector-s-speech-2023-commencement).

The President of the Board of Administration, Dr. Andy Pușca, reminded us all about the wise words of the Founder of Danubius University: “Being a student means eternal youth!”. He also wished the graduates to believe in their future, in the good training they acquired and they would be brave and full of enthusiasm, no matter what path they would take in life!

An emotional moment was also the speech of the special guest, Mr. Costel Fotea, president of Galati County Council, former graduate of the Faculty of Law within Danubius University, member of DANUBIUS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION. He remembered his student years, the courses, the mentors who influenced his career, the years spent in Danubius University and expressed his gratitude to all those who made the 4 years of studentship matter in his professional life.

The President of Danubius University Senate, Dr. Georgeta Modiga,  thanked the graduates present in the amphitheater and the entire audience and expressed her thoughts full of encouragement and confidence in the success on all levels, of CLASS 2023!

The most awaited moment, the deans offering the graduate certificates to all graduates, was received with long applause from the relatives, friends, and supporters of our graduates!

In the end, GAUDEAMUS IGITUR and the throwing of caps, moments of maximum joy for all those who were declared, by the Vice-Rector with Teaching Activity, Dr. Filip Stanciu, GRADUATES!
