Full-time – full-time learning involves taking part in courses and seminars.

Part-time learning – part-time learning, case in which you only take part in compulsory application activities, teaching classes being replaced by individual study.

Distance learning - Distance learning is characterized by periodical tutorial meetings.  The entire communication between student and professor is made through the Sakai Platform, „Danubius” University is one of the few higher education institutions that uses, at full potential and in full responsibility this education electronic platform.

Security Management in International Relations

The master program of Security Management in International Relations addresses bachelor graduates that wish to specialize and to develop a professional career in the field of international relations and security studies.

The mission of the professional master program is to train specialists able to operate with security policies and strategies in the current context of international relations, competent in managing information flows in the current context of international relations.

The professional master program Security Management in International Relations aims to cover the training needs of the staff involved in institutions playing a major role in implementing security policies and strategies, in a concept referring to the issue of national and regional security in the South-East European area in which Romania is positioned as a major supplier of security.

This master program will be taught by professors with practical training and special expertise in fields such as political science, security studies, military science, international economic relations and international law.  

 

Competencies

- Understanding the main theoretical concepts referring to international and national security systems, defense of legality, person and community interest.

-Developing abilities and attitudes in the context of the dynamics that affects the national and international security environment of the main international actors.  

-Theoretical and practical presentation of the information regarding international and European institutions and of the legislative package referring to citizen safety, environment safety, interest of the person and international legislation.

-Development of some correlation and understanding abilities of socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of territory security and operating with specialty concepts: national, regional, international security, economic security, organization security etc.

-Forming and developing of comprehension, analysis and implementation abilities of crisis management techniques, conflict management, negotiation and cooperation, with focus on security perspectives.

-Structures of the local, national and international public administration and institutions related to Romanian Government.

-Specialize structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of National Defense, National Information Service, Ministry of Labor and National Justice and the Ministry of National Education.

-Military units and territorial authorities of public order of the General Inspectorate of Romanian Police, Customs Police, Emergency Situations General Inspectorate, General Inspectorate for Immigration, General Inspectorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie, Romanian Information Service, Local Police.

-National and international private organizations and structures.

Subjects: South-Eastern Europe security policies and strategies; South-Eastern Europe in international relations; Impact of migration on international security; Operational dimensions in fighting terrorism; Foundations of security in the contemporary world; International security institutions and organizations; Management of economic security; Psychological dimension in security Intelligence; Negotiation and mediation techniques in solving international differences; Analysis of  diplomatic discourse; Management of external policy and national security; Security Management and crisis management; Management of strategic security Intelligence; Security culture in contemporary society; Cooperation in international relations in the region Danube-Black Sea; Conflict Management in the 21st century.

The study plan includes specialty practice internship, in the first and second study year, totaling 140 hours. The internship is performed in institutions according to agreements concluded between the university and these institutions.

Business and international economy

This program aims to offer modern economic and international training of master students for the requirements of national and European labor market.

The mission of the program is to train well prepared specialists from a professional and scientific point of view able to respond to the challenges of a sustainable international economy through: obtaining very good communication abilities in two languages of international circulation; adequate knowledge of the international business environment; knowledge of European Union institutions and policies; professional compatibility with positions in institutions managing European financing programs.

  • Using business and international relations techniques and of a specialty economic language.
  • Management of activities of companies in a European and international companies.
  • Offering consultancy in the field of international economic relations and European affairs.

This master program has the following main objectives:

  • Development of communication abilities in the field of international relations.
  • Gaining practical knowledge necessary for specialists in public and private institutions.
  • Excellence of training in the field of international circulation foreign languages.
  • Involvement of master students in research and scientific study projects along with professors.
  • Ensuring modern academic training that includes various subjects: modern economic culture, research methods, geopolitics, international economy, business negotiation, ethics, conflict analysis, international public relations.
  • Promoting and encouraging international practice mobilities for master students through the Erasmus+ projects and other mobilities’ projects.

Subjects: International economic relations; Current trends in international relations; Public relations in the international environment; International financial institutions; World economy; Geopolitics and analysis of international conflicts; Negotiation strategies in business; International institutions and organizations; Methodology of social research; Dimensions of economic mass-media; Ethics of business in international relations. Negotiation strategies in solving international differences etc.

The study plans include practical specialty internships in the first year of study, for 3 weeks, totaling 90 hours, at the end of the second semester. Internships take place in public and private companies and institutions etc. according to agreements concluded between them and the university.

The faculty has its own specialty laboratories (IT, multimedia labs), with adequate equipment for all subjects with such activities, with licenses for all necessary software, allowing the optimal performance of the classes for those subjects.

The university library is equipped with reading rooms and its own book collection for the subjects included in the study plans, for each university study cycle, and the resources necessary for the development of activities are included in the income and expenditure budgets. Also, in the library, students have free online access to data basis and specialty magazines from the country and from abroad.
