The Faculty of Communication and International Relations is a structure from within "Danubius” University, which was formed by the merging of the Communication Sciences Faculty with the Faculty of International Relations and European Studies. This was endorsed by Goverment Decision no. 966/2011.
The Faculty of Communication Sciences with its Department of Social Communication and Public Relations was authorized to operate provisionally by Government Decision no. 693/2003 starting with 1 October 2003, via the university structures and specializations which have been accredited or authorized to function temporarily in higher education institutions . Since 2004, by Goverment Decision no.1609, the name of its specialization has been Communication and Public Relations.
The initial structure of the curriculum was of four years, and as a result of the Bologna Process, it was changed for a three-year structure. Thus, in 2007 two sets of students graduated from one long and one short programme respectively. After two bachelor batches and with a much improved teaching staff component, the Communication and Public Relations programme of study was accredited by Government Decision no. 169/2011.
The Faculty of International Relations and European Studies with Department of International Relations and European Studies was established in compliance with the Recommendation no.1700 of 15/07/2005 of the National Council for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation and was authorized to work temporarily for the full-time educational programme day GD no. 676 of 28.06.2007, published in Official Gazette no. 481/18.07.2007.
The bachelor programmes belonging to the Faculty of Communication and International Relations are:
* Communication and Public Relations with full-time and distance education forms; the full-time educational programme was accredited in 2010 and endorsed by Government Decision no. 169/2011;
* International Relations and European Studies, accredited for the full-time form in 2011 and confirmed by GD no. 966/2011;
* Management Assistance and Secretariat, with a full-time education programme, authorized by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in 2011 and entered in the academic circuit by GD no. 966/2011.
Within "Danubius" University, the Faculty of Communication and International Relations assumes the task of preparing specialists, researchers and leaders in different areas of the East and South - East regions of the country, engaging in debates and projects at society level, in shaping a new development framework within the European context.
To address these major components of the new field, the curriculum which we offer to our students via highly competent teachers in the field, is in line with what is happening today on a national and international scale, which makes such a bachelor degree being recognized anywhere by transferable credits.
Within the faculty there are four publications: Acta Universitatis Danubius Communicatio, Acta Universitatis Danubius Relationes Internationales, Styles of Communication and the Danubian Studies and Research Journal. In addition, our students permanently publish their scientific output in the infocom @ gal school-newspaper.
The research projects and partnerships with academic and research institutions at home and abroad, the "European Integration - Realities and Perspectives" International Conference, which is held in May at "Danubius" University, the "Danube-Axis of European Identity International Conference " which is held every year on the 29th of June, the educational programmes developed by the International Relations Department of the University, provide as many high-training professional opportunities to our future graduates even before their bachelor certification.
