The role of universities in society is very important, generating and transmitting knowledge to future generations. In order to accomplish this mission, universities must be prepared for a constant transformation, which implies a strategic quality plan.
This was the context that brought together the managers of the "Danubius" University at an extraordinary meeting led by Prof. Steve O. MICHAEL, member of the Board of Trustees of this higher education institution, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost of the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science - California, USA.
In full process of elaborating the strategic plan for the period 2020-2024, the managers of the "Danubius" University, under the coordination of the Rector Associate Professor Andy PUȘCĂ, PhD together with Professor Steve O. MICHAEL, PhD, debated the key elements of a tangible strategic plan, anchored to the profile of the students, the demands of the labor market, a plan that will lead to effective results for the whole community.
He emphasized, starting from the model of the strategic plan of the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science - California, USA, issues of interest that he considers to be a priority in the elaboration of such a plan with implications for the whole community: the people involved in the elaboration process, vision, mission and values of the university, the needs of the employers, the requirements of the students, etc.
By 2030, the "Danubius" University aims at being recognized in the area between the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea as an international university of excellence, an open and stimulating environment for personal and entrepreneurial development, as well as for the constant exchange of ideas and values. “This University will only succeed in maintaining excellence by involving in this deliberative strategic process all its members who must share the same vision.” Professor Steve O. MICHAEL, PhD.
